WHY WORK AT ASHOKA

Why work at Ashoka? Take it from our leaders. This is why a few Ashokans love being part of this creative, driven, worldwide team of teams:

  • It is a "safe space to innovate, because the institution will snuff out ideas that are not powerful and significant." –Sushmita Ghosh, President Emeritus
  • "Potential impact, open framework, people." – Paul O’Hara, European Leader
  • "I stay at Ashoka because of the freedom I enjoy thoroughly realizing that with full freedom comes total responsibility" – Vishnu, Asia Leader

WHAT YOU MIGHT DO

Whether you work in India, Brazil or DC, whether you are a recent graduate or beginning your encore career, and whether you are launching a new idea or growing our legacy, you will inevitably identify innovative people and ideas, create influential trust networks, and mobilize those networks for lasting change.
Specifically, Ashoka is recruiting senior leaders who will do things like:

  • Build a global network of millions of young changemakers and ensure that everyone knows young people must practice changemaking & master cognitive empathy to succeed in a rapidly changing world
  • Leads spotting and engages the world’s leading social entrepreneurs in a rich fellowship.
  • Build cutting-edge collaborations between citizen sector organizations and businesses
  • We are also recruiting at the mid and junior levels. For entry-level hires, we offer many internship opportunities each year.

WHO WE LOOK FOR

Ashoka is always seeking creative doers with a habit of reshaping the world in significant ways, whether they launched their own organizations or made change inside them.

HOW WE LEARN

Ashoka’s staff selection process is modeled on its Fellow selection process and strives to deeply understand a person and his or her story, and – of course – to introduce a candidate to Ashoka’s story. A candidate can expect to speak with roughly five to ten Ashoka staff members through three phases of a selection process, including some of its senior leadership. The first step is this short application below – we look forward to knowing you.
