Operations Volunteer

Do details make your world go round? We’re looking for a new volunteer for a long term position with Ashoka UK, we’d love to meet you if you’re interested in the smaller picture! Here in the Operations team, we know that changing the world depends on getting the little things right and we’d like to find someone who shares this understanding. We’re looking for an organiser, a co-ordinator, someone who finds pleasure in creating order. The role would involve supporting and managing the systems and processes that keep the Ashoka UK team running happily. From equipment management in the office to co-ordinating strategic guest lists for our events, a lot of the work will orientate around the logistics that enable the Ashoka UK team. We’re especially keen to meet someone familiar with technology, who can liaise with our remote tech support team to keep us running in the UK. For more information click here.

Communications Volunteer

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, bright and creative Communications Volunteer with a passion for social entrepreneurship and innovation, to provide core ongoing support to all aspects of Ashoka’s internal and external communications and events. The successful applicant will be working on Ashoka UK’s key communications campaigns, helping with marketing materials, organising events, as well as interacting with our international and UK fellows. Education

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, bright and detail-oriented individual with a passion for social entrepreneurship and innovation to join our team for 3 months. The role will primarily involve working on Ashoka’s Changemaker Schools programme – the search and selection of leading educational institutions which prioritise empathy and changemaking as student outcomes. The activities associated with this role involve carrying out careful research on nominated primary and secondary schools, research and outreach to education related media and events organisation. Fellowship

Do you get excited about social innovators? The Fellowship team at Ashoka UK are looking for a volunteer. The Fellowship team focusses upon supporting elected Fellows through networks, strategy, communications and events as well as measuring the impact of their work. Activities will involve relationship management, organising events and workshops, community building, and impact measurement. This is great opportunity to meet and support world leading social entrepreneurs who work in fields from education to human right to conservation. The deadline for applications is 21st June. Venture

Do you have an eye for the next big thing in social enterprise? Here in the Venture team at Ashoka, we’re recruiting a volunteer to assist us with bringing together the UK’s most ambitious, effective changemakers. We’re finding the most important people working on the frontline of social change. We’re looking for someone who can investigate promising candidates, and make a strong, detailed case for the best candidates. The role consists of managing the pipeline of candidates, doing in-depth research on potential candidates, co-leading interviews with the Venture manager, and making final decision on candidates in weekly pipeline meetings. Before selection panels the Venture team compiles research, does benchmarking, site visits, reference checks and write extensive documents on a candidate’s work. HOW WE LEARN

Ashoka’s staff selection process is modeled on its Fellow selection process and strives to deeply understand a person and his or her story, and – of course – to introduce a candidate to Ashoka’s story. A candidate can expect to speak with roughly five to ten Ashoka staff members through three phases of a selection process, including some of its senior leadership.
